visual art and performance student
Yesterday I was lucky enough to dance in The Dunveen Hall in the Tate Britain, in conjunction with Tate’s Picasso exhibition and The English National Ballet.
I took part in a workshop held by the ballets current choreographer, Hubert Essakow http://www.hubertessakow.com/
The workshop looked at Picasso’s paintings, their aesthetics, how they are constructed and it also looked at his technical skills behind the work. We then took inspiration from these, and turned it into a movement language. We kept developing this with various techniques to create an outcome of movement. I then got to view the Picasso Exhibition, I was partially drawn to his early works which were not Cubist!
The movement was successful and developed through so many places, this will be something I will take into my own work.
